How do I download the PokerShare software?

To download the PokerShare Software click on the link on the PokerShare.com homepage. You will then see a pop up box which requires you to click on Run. Once this has been done you will be asked to agree to the Terms and Conditions. Upon agreement the PokerShare Software will load automatically. You will find after you have exited the PokerShare Software that a short cut has been created on the desktop.

How big is the download?

The software download is approximately 5MB.

What connection do I need?

We recommend a connection of at least 56K and a platform no older than Windows 95. The faster your connection, the better your playing experience will be.

Why am I unable to download the software?

Your computer security settings or firewall may need to be adjusted to allow the download. Please contact our support if you are still having problems.

I can't connect to the software, what's wrong?

When connection problems occur it is usually due to the player's Internet Service Provider. We advise all players to use a stable internet connection when playing on PokerShare to minimize the likelihood of connectivity problems. PokerShare requires a constant connection, so even a brief connection loss will result in you having to re-connect. Connection dips will not cause any problems with websites you are browsing since they do not need the constant connection that PokerShare.com requires.

If there are cases where PokerShare is responsible for connection problems, then a message will be displayed to inform players of this. If you are in any doubt please contact our support team.

Why does the game action sometimes slow down?

Our game server and software have been robustly designed to respond as efficiently as possible to the large numbers of players in our poker room at any given time. If you are experiencing a slower response at times (known as 'lag'), this is most likely due one of two things - either your own connection is slower than normal, or one or more of the other players' connections is slow, so that they appear to be taking a long time over their actions.

If you are continually experiencing a slow response, please contact our support team who will be able to help you diagnose the problem.

Can I play on a Macintosh?

At the moment our poker client only supports Windows platforms but we are constantly improving our software and have this in mind.
